about

This is the third track in an ambient series called 'Gravity Feeder'. The track is midway through development and does not represent the final product but I thought I'd post it for the chillaxians anyway...

This track was created using an Access Virus Ti2 Polar, a KORG MS2000, and a Novation UltraNova. No post processing. What you hear is what you get. As the story goes, I decided to go into my studio and have a play with some arpeggios and after a few minutes I had what you can essentially hear here.

It was at that time that I received a phone call that my oma (dutch for nan) was passing away. I had no time to turn anything off. I just left everything playing and hopped in my car to be by her side... and I did. My mother and I held her hand and stroked her hair as she passed into the next world. It was truly an honour to be there for her. The time was11:40pm on a Saturday night.

When I came home, the 3 synths were still playing these arpeggios. They had been playing while my oma passed... so I decided to record it before turning everything off and going to sleep. I turned everything down and hit record and gradually brought in the individual elements. I manipulated & mutated every sound and arp in real-time to constantly change and evolve. This is essentially a 'live' performance... and I dedicated to my oma.
